To register for a Berkeley City College course that has a prerequisite, students must demonstrate that they have successfully completed the prerequisite course with a grade of "C" or higher.  

 

Use this form if you have successfully completed a prerequisite through: 
 

• Completed a course at a college or university outside of the Peralta Community College District 

• Data from a High School transcript 

• Passing score on AP, IB, SAT, and/or ACT exams

• Results from a BCC Guided Self Placement  (available only for ENGL, Math and ESOL) (https://www.berkeleycitycollege.edu/wp/placement-and-orientation/math-and-english/) 
   

Supporting documentation such as unofficial transcript, test score report or Guided Self Placement recommendation must be uploaded for requests to be submitted. The uploaded documents must show your full name and the name of the institution. Partial transcripts are not accepted. 

 

The Berkeley City College Counseling Department reviews all approvals for this petition.  Please allow 3-5 business days for review to be completed. During the peak period of registration, the volume of requests increases which may impact response time.
